I think it actually said they were straddling each other or something.. eugh. But it was in the old script and Brigette seems a lot different

Interesting. It would give her a different perspective in the movie.

I didn't read all posts so I'll just say my opinion...
There was really something about that two. First I think that there wasn't that romantical aspect in their relationship. They were just getting closer, got to know each other. It was cute, when Sam tried to find out who Brigitte is to give her her stuff back and how he tried to help her fight the curse. The scene when Ginger was with them in the greenhouse and he said: "I don't think of you that way" and Brigitte sighed was funny, because he defended himself and Brigitte was annoyed that he mentioned it again. It was a pity that Sam died, because I think, that they someday would have developed a strong affection for each other.

I agree with the comment that romance wasn't really a aspect in Brigitte and Sam's relationship for most of the movie. They were both obviously very intellegent people and formed a bond while trying trying to cure Brigitte (but really Ginger). They were two friendless people on the outside of society becoming friends. The scene where Sam says he doesn't like Brigitte like that and Brigitte sighs I think shows how annoyed she is that everyone would assume that her relationship with Sam was about her having a crush and him trying to get in her pants. I also think he was quick to defend himself against Ginger because he didn't want to seem like the perv trying to take advantage of an underage girl and he didn't want their friendship changed or jeapordized. By the end of the movie, I think Sam's feelings for her changed to more than friends since he went above and beyond to try to save Ginger for Brigitte's sake. He put himself in harm's way when he didn't have to and ended up dying because he left the pantry before she did to protect her. I think Brigitte also had a crush on Sam by the middle of the movie but she was too involved with Ginger's problems at that point to really care. Also, Sam died in the same way that the janitor did at the school. Anyone else see the parallels with that? Both were always helping out Brigitte through the film and Ginger accused both of them of wanting to get into Brigitte's pants. I think given the chance, their friendship would have turned into a romantic relationship. That's just my opinion

Good observations. I also think he was quick to defend himself against Ginger because he didn't want to seem like the perv trying to take advantage of an underage girl and he didn't want their friendship changed or jeapordized. Apparently he was sensitive to that, but Sam might have been vulnerable to that criticism due to previous behavior. I think the age of consent in Canada at that time was just fifteen. Also, Ginger was just being a jerk in general, then, trying her best to sabotage whatever was between them. She even tried to dash hope for a cure. Also, Sam died in the same way that the janitor did at the school. Anyone else see the parallels with that? Both were always helping out Brigitte through the film and Ginger accused both of them of wanting to get into Brigitte's pants. Ginger might have been jealous, but she was also very protective of Brigitte and took that very seriously, and this was twisted and increased by the mental illness. I think given the chance, their friendship would have turned into a romantic relationship. That's just my opinion I think so, too, but that's interesting and disturbing twist, because then he would have been involved with an underage girl. If you consider that he stays noble and chivalrous about it, then Brigitte ends up with a massive, unrequited crush on him. I think that her ending up with a crush on him was inevitable. I mean, look at the guy, and he was helpful, brave, sensitive and intelligent.

I also think that when B sighed it wasn't because she was like 'Oh no, Sam doesn't like me like that' because nobody would be like that let only Brigette. I think it was more of a 'Why does everybody think that and can we get on with this' type of way

Sam And Brigitte Is My Favorite Character And Of Course A Couples In Ginger Snaps. It Was Sad Sam Died In The First Movie I don't blame you. That has to be one of the most interesting relationships even depicted in a horror movie. BTW, I go on vacation and nobody posts for here for sixteen days? That's just sad!
