Unlike any other werewolf movie, there is almost no mention of the full moon in Ginger Snaps.
But let's face it, both characters knew precisely when the full moon rose. They had to. Their minds would have been focused on it.
So, the question is, when in the story did it happen?
Here's something else, Brigitte was somehow surprised when they reached the house and Ginger had changed. Both her and Sam were. Why?
My thought: the moon had to have risen when the sisters were hiding in Mr. Wayne's office. But when it did Ginger didn't go through the big change.
What the sisters have concluded from that? Perhaps they thought it wouldn't happen until the next full moon, at least. Perhaps they relaxed, let down their guard. Maybe that's why Brigitte is startled at how Ginger murders the janitor and how her sister rejects humanity.
Maybe Brigitte believed that Ginger had a whole other month.
But imagine the two of them waiting in that room, their eyes glued to the clock, knowing that the moon is going to rise at 4:52 and Brigitte being so frightened but not leaving Ginger, who herself was scared.
Imagine leading up to it Ginger eating flesh out of Mr. Wayne's corpse, and carrying on about Brigitte and Sam.
This movie did miss some opportunities. But I realize they needed to keep it to under 110 minutes.
