I've been thinking a lot about the scene in the hall, and I realized something. Brigitte's mistake, where she lost Ginger, was probably in not swapping blood with her her sister after the janitor was killed.
I mean, later, she does do it, but nothing had substantially changed between the scene at the hall at school and one at Sam's place. Except to say, she had less time.
I realize that Ginger had shocked and outraged her. So, I don't wish to say she didn't have good reason to recoil from it. Plus, she was plainly in over her head. However, she also knew Ginger was not responsible for her actions. To tell her sister, "I'd rather be dead than be what you are," whereas before she said "I'd rather be dead than be here without you," was simply to start a fight at the very worst time. The important thing was, her sway over Ginger was weakening without some added blood-based kinhood.
Fact is, she had "the cure" then and also had it at Sam's room.
Brigitte lost Ginger because her devotion wavered at the worst possible time. Which says nothing about Ginger's own tragic flaw.

You're right. Ginger was a mess. Brigitte (as much as I like her) was mortified by what had become of her sister, and couldn't take it anymore. Ginger probably realized that she had alienated her sister, which, like you said, caused her to lose her mind.

Ginger probably realized that she had alienated her sister, which, like you said, caused her to lose her mind. Yes, Ginger's mind was going anyway, though. Even so, it was a matter of keeping her trust through it so Brigitte could persuade her to take the cure. Brigitte corrected her mistake, but it was too late. Things would have gone so different if Brigitte had only brought all the stalks to Sam and prepared more than one syringe, but she was already out of her depth, and how was she to know?

I know! It's a shame that Brigitte used up all the monkshood on that creep Jason. But you're right: Ginger probably would have lost her mind one way or another, even if Brigitte was on her side.
