We all know werewolves are lunatics, they change on nights of the full moon.
What about those times when the full moon rises long before the sun sets? Every werewolf story or movie I've scene shows them changing at night. It seems to me like a daytime change would be . . . embarrassing, and a dead giveaway.
Now, how does this relate to GS?
It's well into the night when Ginger changes. I've got to think that Brigitte knows exactly what time the moon is going to rise and has her eyes glued on the clock. Whether she thinks it's following the Hollywood rules or not, there's no way she isn't doing this. Yet, she never mentions it, and both her and Sam are taken by surprise when Ginger changes. Apparently, then, the moon had already risen and been up for some time, and apparently, when it rose, Brigitte felt relieved that Ginger didn't transform then, and then stopped watching the clock.
Also, maybe Brigitte and Sam were in denial? Maybe, even though they knew the end result of the changes would be a four-legged animal like the BoBD*, they just couldn't believe it would actually happen.
So, when did the moon rise? Maybe when Ginger was in the office with Mr. Wayne? Maybe when Brigitte and Ginger were together in that office . . . ? That seems likely. Imagine hiding in a closed room with a werewolf while you're anticipating the moon rising!
I might write that as a fanfiction. Brigitte and Ginger in that office watching the time and anticipating the change . . . but it can't be completely about that. Everybody knows how it will end.
Yes, I know, I think about this too much. I began thinking about this subject when I looked at the sunset and moonrise times at the setting and time of my story, and discovered the moon rose two hours before the sunset.
*BoBD means Beast of Bailey Downs, of course.
