I really hope I don't offend anyone with this question, because I don't mean any harm... I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks. Okay, might as well ask the question: is Ginger straight, bi, or a closeted lesbian? This is not meant to be homophobic. The reason I'm asking this is because I'm a big fan of the sisters (plan on asking the same thing on the Brigitte board) and am curious about the thoughts of other users.

Ginger was totally gay for Brigitte. The way she looked at her after killing the janitor. Bridget was a butch, and Ginger was a lipstick lesbian in the closet.

You're right. Ginger is probably straight, but I have to admit there's something about her that gives me the impression she might experiment with her sexuality.

I think she would be up for experimenting if she wasn't so attatched to her sister.

I think she would be up for experimenting if she wasn't so attatched to her sister. Actually, I think she would have been experimenting because of her sister. I think it would have been a sublimated way for her to sexualize a close relationship with another female. Trying to take what she had with Brigitte and "improve" upon it. It wouldn't have worked, likely, but I don't put it beyond her to try it, trying to recreate post-puberty the closeness she felt pre-puberty, avoiding incest while adding sex.

I don't know about Brigitte, but I definitely got the feeling Ginger *could* be bisexual, or at least had feelings that went beyond "sisterly" for Brigitte... I mean, after Ginger kills the janitor, she whispers in B's ear, "It's almost like we're not even sisters..." which I think carries a whole lot of subtext.

I mean, after Ginger kills the janitor, she whispers in B's ear, "It's almost like we're not even sisters..." which I think carries a whole lot of subtext. Actually, I see Ginger's line as being ambiguous, and I think Brigitte misunderstood her. When she said, "It's almost like we're not even related anymore." B thought that meant what you said. Actually, Ginger meant that "I'm, like, a different species now. I can't think of you as my sister anymore. We'll have to redo this blood oath (or I might kill you)." I tend to think that Ginger, if she had lived, might have experimented with bisexuality, just to try to recreate the friendship she had with B. But no, I don't think it was a natural thing for her. I think "the Curse" put Ginger's sexual orientation under stress, hormone overload. And there's another scene with gender-bending interplay. When they're burying Trina, Ginger says, "You think she's pretty?" Then Brigitte tries to shock Ginger about lesbianism saying, "If I weren't here, would you eat her?" And Ginger comes back with "No, that would be like fucking her!" So, G takes B's suggestion of cannibalism and outshocks her with suggestions of gay necrophilia. Prior to Ginger's "lunacy" I think the sisters stayed as far away from lesbian references as they could. It wasn't how they saw their bond, and sex was an interference with it.
