I'm reluctant to review a movie unless I've seen it twice (unless once was too painful). So I finally saw GS3 for the second time. First time was on television, now I actually own the DVD.
I'm sorry to say, I'm disappointed. It was not nearly as good as what I first thought. The werewolf myth they give is slipshod and muddled, a way to torture a prequel out of the original. I think the entire production company was out of its depth trying to make a period piece. I wish they had kept Ginger's transformation consistent with the original, at least. I think a girl misbehaving, as Ginger did post-bite, would have been fun in the 19th century.
Now, even though the other sprequel, Unleashed had a mind-blowing story idea and an incredible performance by Emily Perkins who practically saved half the movie, I tend to think of GS the way many people think of Highlander: "There can only be one."
(Except my novel, of course.)

aww guys. i know it wasent as good as GS (nothing could ever be) but it still needs a chance. im sure a werewoulf from the movie would be looking at you and making big puppy eyes begging for a chance besides emily and katy where in the movie so you gotta atleast like that.

That it wasn't as good is expected. Fact is, Emily and Katy have shown what they can do if they have a great scriptwriter. Hell, Emily has shown that she could carry half a movie solo without a good script. The fact that I don't think it's a total failure is because Emily and Katy are in it. The problem was, really, Karen Walton wasn't writing this script. She was really the soul of GS1, and her handiwork isn't in 2 or 3, although 2 is a better movie than 3. I will say one thing about 3: I love the ending. I'm not being sardonic either, that was a good twist at the end.

I liked the fact that whatever God or spirit was giving the Indians their prophecies is demonstrated to . . . no know everything. I thought it was a hilarious twist on a story so dependent on using prophecy. And it was, in a respect, a rebelliousness against the "parent" who has plans for you. Just excellent.

We must send her flowers of a beautiful variety. ;D Actually, that would be a good idea sometime, as with also keeping Emily's and Katy's birthdays in mind. And Kris Lemche's. Not a bad idea for John Fawcett, either. But it's apparent Karen Walton was the heart and soul of GS, though the three leads did an amazing job of channeling it.

This is why I need to get my idea to them. The 9 year idea is still doable.
A FOURTH MUST BE MADE!!!!

... WITH KAREN WALTON!!!! Well, nat, the tragic possibility is that Karen Walton might not want to do it. Why would she have been left out of the sequels? Either she did not want to do one, she had a disagreement with the rest of the production staff, or they did not want her back. Decisions on if there are going to be any more sequels depends on the say of the senior producer for the trilogy, Steve Hoban. Most indications are from him that there will be no more, unless there's a real uptick in sales of the movies already made. I would suggest getting a sequel by spreading the popularity of the original GS, as I am trying to do with my novel, and not try to sell those sequels.

damn you reality I only said "might." But for some reason, she's not working with that crew anymore. You might just have to settle for somebody who writes as well as she does. Either way, it would have to go through Steve Hoban.

yeah, and i dont have a idea of what the movi should be about. there is no cure so if they continue then briggit would still be a werewoulf and odds are she will be killed fast... so that only leaves ghost to continue. it would have to be a great script to make it work.
or they could do it like lordhowl. that would be a intresting story xD
hey nat are you new???
