Chapter 26 of Ginger Snaps: The Feral Bond is now up. The body count is well over thirty now. Some of the things revealed now: werewolves do have a social structure and a lot of craftiness. They have a very rigid pack system where werewolf is always dominant to those it infects, but there's also nurturing, of a sort. June finds herself under Brigitte's control, but her hallucinations (and Ginger) help her get out from under it. But the chapter ends with Brigitte beating and torturing June. In the process, she has been infected for the third time in 24 hours, and wonders if the effects are somehow cumulative. In theory, it ought to be a month before she changes. In fact . . . But June also finds herself becoming more fascinated with blood, wounds and death now. This is the sequel to GS they always should have made: www.fanfiction.net/s/5709622/1/Ginger_Snaps_The_Feral_Bond

Chapter 27 of "Ginger Snaps: The Feral Bond" is now up. is.gd/iPf66This is the sequel they would have made for Ginger Snaps if they had had a blockbuster budget. The story will end soon. Which I hope will lift it's readership.

I'm now on Chapter 28 in my story. The moon finally rises! That's the good news.
More good news: I can now make writing my full-time job.
The bad news: I had estimated that it would end at Chapter 32 at 165,000 words. After outlining the remaining scenes, I see that I need 37 chapters and 200,000 words to do it.

Hi Howl! I'm still reading Speaking of the moon tho -- did you see the lunar eclipse?! Apparently the last one was in the 1500s!

Hi Howl! I'm still reading Speaking of the moon tho -- did you see the lunar eclipse?! Apparently the last one was in the 1500s! Ty Epi. I'm so happy you've been reading it. Tell me what you think when you can. I'll add that it's not that I don't know exactly how it will end. I've always known that. I just don't know everything that goes on between here and there. I'm finding out its a lot. Actually, I might have to inflate my estimate. 210,000 words max. That would be 700 pages typed. For perspective, I've now produced about 445 pages. Oh, the moon. Actually it was the first time since the 1500s that there was an eclipse on the winter solstice. There have been lunar eclipses since, but none with that timing.

I'm happy to say, I'm now able to start a writing career. I've been awarded disability. So, now I'm a civil servant who the government has hired to write great stories full-time. For those of you in the US, it will be the best use of your or your parents tax money you've ever seen. For those outside the US, it'll be the best work to come out of my country since . . . the Internet. Or at least that's what the government has hired me into disability to do. I can promise, at least, stories that don't suck. As many of you know (except maybe the new guy, spikeghost,) I'm in the middle of writing a huge Ginger Snaps fanfic, Ginger Snaps: The Feral Bond. Before I go on to anything else, I'm finishing that, working on it full time 40 hours a week. BTW, what you see online is a serial-draft. When I'm done, the last step will be to edit and to add a few minor things to the entire manuscript. Only major change: my writers' group suggested that I add some more to the story in chapter 2 and make it the first chapter instead, while making the current first chapter into the second. I think I'm going to do this because I think the second chapter will hook more people in, especially non-fans of GS. So, you could read now, or you might wait until it's completely done. Your choice. The story and characters will stay the same. When will that be? -sigh- I'm thinking now ten weeks for this draft, 14 weeks with the edit, too. But this project has been overrunning it's length and deadline estimates since I started. Maybe I'll be done just in time for summer vacation. Ginger Snaps hooked me into this. I just couldn't leave Ginger and Brigitte after seeing these movies, especially the original. This is a franchise that needs the best reboot ever.

Chapter 28 of my GS fanfic "The Feral Bond" is now up. The story has now taken a Lovecraftian turn, because there are also bad things lurking in that "asylum" where Brigitte was imprisoned. I've introduced a creature I bet you've never seen in another story to go along with the werewolves. www.fanfiction.net/s/5709622/1/Ginger_Snaps_The_Feral_BondAll told, I can't believe how long it took to finish this chapter. This was a hard one to write.

I posted another GS story on fanfiction.net, but actually, it's not really a story. It's the new introduction to GSTFB. I'm not done making changes in the first two chapters yet so it's not actually in the novel. The second chapter will become the first and vice-versa, but the second chapter will have much more to it, where I hope to cut a lot out of it. The idea behind the intro is that it's an entry in Brigitte's journal that she had been writing after leaving Bailey Downs. I can quote it all here because it's so short: "I never wanted to be a thief, but I can grab things off a shelf faster than a security cam can pick it up, and I can outrun any store security, so it's my living. I'm not fit for a real job. My temper's too terrible, and with my strength, I could really hurt somebody, or far worse. It's best that I'm alone. "I'm afraid of everybody all the time now. I never know how dumb it is except after I've shot monkshood and after the sickness has passed, like right now. I keep thinking that people are going to see what I am and kill me, or my body will give me away. Dogs always know it, they either bark or cower. I hate them for it, but I haven't killed any, yet. I can't even say or write the word w-w-. Now that I think, Ginger never said the word, either. Maybe paranoia is part of this? Maybe it wants you to hide it until you're finished changing? Maybe that's part of why the wounds close so fast? It hides within you and changes your mind so that you'll hide it, too. "Ginger, is this what you went through? Is this why you swore me to secrecy about it right away? It must be. All your denials never made sense to me before now. I had no idea. "She wasn't like me. I could have never stayed around home with this kind of fear. I know I would have hid. I know I wouldn't have been able to stand her knowing about it. If she did, I would have thought of killing her, and it must have crossed her mind about me more than once. "It's been 8 months since the "Bailey Downs Incident" and almost 6 months since I left Jason. He hasn't found me again. Now I somehow know he's there even before he leaves kills for me, or before he slaughters some guy who got too close. Maybe I can smell him without knowing it? "I wondered if there are others out there attacking people and others like me who are changing. There must be. No way BD was the only incident. How is it that none of this is on the news? "I'm lonely and life sucks more than I ever imagined it could. The worse it gets, though, the more pissed off I get. Ginger had no chance to fight it. She was too far gone before it was possible, but I can. And I will never, ever, give in to the creature that took my sister and friend away from me. "-Brigitte Fitzgerald, Journal, pg. 44"

The revised Chapter 1 is up. And it's been very well reviewed by fellow writers in town. Very well. They did say that it's a good stand alone short story, so for those who don't want to tackle a full novel, it's what you can read. www.fanfiction.net/s/5709622/1/Ginger_Snaps_The_Feral_BondIt's actually the old chapter two with the complete story told now and moved to chapter 1. Except for a "journal entry" by Brigitte to begin, it doesn't have any GS characters. They now enter in Chapter 2, which is also being rewritten. Then, I'll go back and write chapter 30.

I just put up a new chapter for "Ginger Snaps: The Feral Bond." Chapter 31, Unhinged, is now up at fanfiction.net: goo.gl/DuFtSThis is an extremely intense chapter, bloodier, gorier and more horrific than any previously. The sisters don't appear in the plot very much at this point. It's all my own characters now, but Ginger and Brigitte will come back in a couple chapters as the story closes. The novel will end on chapter 33, with chapter 34 being an epilogue. By the way, it's not only a werewolf story at this point either. Ghosts have taken a prominent role here. It also has a poltergeist, a ghost-cannibal, and zombies.
