I went to daycare, I think I turned out ok lol. It wasn't so much daycare, it was like this woman who looked after kids at her home, she was so nice. I still see her sometimes. And I'm still friendly with a girl who went there because we go to the same school.

Hello! ^^ I also don't think that abuse or a bad babysitter or failed daycare were a reason for Gingers behavior... I think it's more the social thing, such as many of you already pointed out. Let's pretend they had had a good childhood together and they realized that both had other imaginations of life and everything than people in their environment did, which makes them do that pact. Like s.o. already said, when kids are eight, sixteen sounds like forever away, now the problem is that that time has come and Brigitte isn't entirely sure anymore about that plan, because she got used to that life as a outsider and she likes it. She likes being with Ginger and Ginger alone, for she kinda admires her her whole lifetime (I refer to the already posted worm-scene and even Pam and Ginger herself stated that B always did/does what Ginger did/does). Ginger, on the other hand, realized for herself, that she started to want other things: some more attention, maybe kinda wanna belong to another clique than just being the two of them. (Maybe not directly Trina's ) VERY Vague theory ( ): She felt that change in her thinking, although she never wanted to grow up or be the slightest bit like the others (personally I think she would have never been ^^ --> She had to think about that offer McCardy gave her a little bit too long. Okay, or she was just too surprised ) What I wanna say: Her body felt that change, too and so it also "grows up" --> the period Maybe she also thought, that because of that she was about to loose Brigitte, who wanted to stay outsider, what may scare her and that's why she always refers to the pact and the "together forever" thing. ...just my two cents... hope it's understandable...

Welcome 1ginger3. I agree with most of what you said. One thing I want to point out about Ginger pausing with Jason: a few scenes before, Jason had been jeering and leering obscenely at Ginger, which prompted her to give him the finger. Then he asked her out. Of course she's stunned. Perhaps she is stunned also that the moment had come where she was suddenly considered sexually appealing. She maybe did not see that coming. The pact reminds me of the romantic period in the late 19th century where suicide pacts between lovers were in. Except, these are two childhood friends, sisters, who made one. I've said before, I think the slide show was Ginger's way, her first step, to seek other friends, other people who would understand. At the same time, it was a "fuck you" to people who didn't understand it. A very artistic thing to do.

*thx* Yeah, you could be right with Jason. She also put her jacket closer around herself, when she noticed him checking her out. That goes with the "considered sexually appealing" thing. I totally agree with your last sentence. I couldn't have phrased that better Hey, I didn't know about that pacts in the romantic period, very interesting, though!
