The scene where Ginger says that her parents drowned I interpreted it different ways, first I thought she was looking for sympathy from the men so they would let them in, then I thought maybe they really did drown. When Bee quesitons her parents drowning I thought either she doesn't know, or it was made up. Gingers response of it being quite peaceful made it sound like she was finishing the rest of their story just incase anyone asked them for further details, or thats really how it happened, or she was just lying to protect Bee. They really should have gone into more detail. For now I'll have to take people's word on them killing thier parents based on what the commentary says, but I will have to watch and listen to the commentary for myself Oh and someone asked how we know they are even really dead, Well there is that scene later on when Bridgette says something along the lines that she had a dream about mother and father, and Ginger (packing up her stuff) says mother and father are dead. So I don't believe that to be a lie, so they really are dead.

Well, in commentary they say something along the lines of ''And if you didn't notice, they killed their parents!'' if I recall. But I haven't really listened to it in ages.
But ignoring that your speculation is amusing.
Well, she could've just meant dead to them. As in not in their lives anymore. The way she said it could've been a way of ''They're dead to us remember!?''
BTW this forum is pretty dead, so if u want some GS chat. Add my messenger to ur list. (jpmaarten@hotmail.com)

This adds to another one of the ways to interpret exactly what they meant. But, maybe it was supposed to be vague. . . But it should have been made more clear. Damn I need to listen to that commentary for myself.

Someone I know personally thought that perhaps their parents abused them, so they murdered them and took off. I dunno about that, but I got the feeling that Ginger was lying for pity at the hands of the fort's staff. And when she made the remark about their drowning being peaceful, I felt that it was just an elaboration of the lie in a sardonic(?) sort of way.

M'kay. In the commentary. It says, "So, for you dumba**es out there, they killed their parents." Seriously. Watch it with the commentary. At the scene whre Ginger says, 'Yes, but they didn't suffer, it was really quite peaceful actually." They say it. Note to self: Listen to GS3 commentary sometime this week.
