Has anyone of you heard that French movie 'Naissance Des Pieuvres'? It will strike you as being quite similar to Ginger Snaps in terms of the two female characters.. Both teenagers, one younger, one older..the older girl being busty, hot and sexy and whatnot.. the younger being passive.

I like her in the 3rd one.
In the first she was pretty rude to B most of the time lolz. In the 3rd one they seemed closer to me and they really looked out for each other.
I liked how Ginger finally had B's back and saved her and they were both together in the end. Seemed more sisterly to me. (Sorry if I spolied the ending to anyone who didn't see it >.<)

not that anyone who want's to know is on the site anymore, but....
Naissance Des Pieuvres means Water Lilies. It's nothing like Ginger Snaps, but it is a very good movie.

OK... So what is it about? Care to create a new topic? Perhaps it is worth watching?
@ Epiklow: Aye, I agree that the ending on the Prequel was great, and that Gingers treatment of B was better, more sisterly. And I loved the good ending, even though I suspect what happened shortly after the end of the movie might be more grim than you think.

Ginger Snaps, the original, hands down. Yes, she could be a real bitch, but Ginger was a complete package there. Her love and protectiveness toward her sister comes through, even though she fucks it up. So goes through her fear, her anger, her jealousy. And with all the trouble, I actually wanted to be with Brigitte and Sam saving her.
In the second, movie, she's dull, I'm afraid. She delivers some very sleepy lines. It isn't really Ginger, either. She's a hallucination, a part of Brigitte's mind, and a way Brigitte has of coping with trauma that she went through and is going through. And really, her part is really there for atmosphere. There was no emotional range to her.
In the prequel, her protectiveness toward Brigitte is paramount, but by the time we meet the sisters they are already deep in a crisis, so she would be protective. The character seems more honorable, but in that one Brigitte was more willing to join her and there was no misunderstanding or miscommunications between them for Ginger to respond to. Besides, they had lost parents and were trapped in the wilderness. Of course they'd cling to each other for dear life.

Defo the original. I loved her bitchyness, but not in a way that we know it today. Ginger was one of a kind. I loved everything about her, her attidude to the world, her hair, her style... You just lose the sassyness in the next two movies. We don't see that much of her in the 2nd one because its not as focused on her.. and you just get a touch of the sass in 3rd one but not as much. Maybe I'm being biased because the first one was my favourite but I generally preffered everything the first one.

Definately the first movie. In GS2 it wasn't really Ginger, rather a hallucination. I also really liked Ginger in GS3, but she lacked the sarcastic attitude she had in all the other films.
