Hmm I'm thinking we should email some of the members on here and remind them about this site?

Maybe. It would help if they had more to do. Seems like they all kinda got burned out or somethin'. Maybe more random topics are needed to attract the masses.

Definitively! We tried some things now and then. But... Yeah. It did not work out as good as we had hoped. It's nice to see you guys go at it though.
If you think it would have any effect, I could send out a newsletter to all the members reminding them we are alive, not kicking, but alive none the less. Would be nice to have something to attract with though.

Hmmm. A newsletter would be great! But yeah... not sure what to attract them with. I wish we could have some sort of contest, but I don't have much to give away.

Maybe a fan-fiction or fan-art competition. There doesn't need to be a award really. Anything to get people involved is good.

Fan-fiction and fan-art competition sounds great. If things had been better here on my end, I'd fund GS merchandise for the winner, as we have done before. But I'm sorry to say that ain't happening right now. It is really amazing how much a "free" Ginger Snaps themed college sweater draws attention But then again, it is a rather short lived project, a few weeks in and we are back at square 1. I was talking to another old-timer here yesterday, John. He feared he would not know anyone on here anymore. I can understand why he feel that way, but the only way to get to know people is to reach out for them. Hopefully I'll be able to lure him away from his studies.

I used to make bird skull necklaces and skull bead rings like the ones worn by the sisters. If I start making them again, the winner could receive those as prizes. Maybe a necklace to the 1st place winner and the rings to a runner-up or something. What do you guys think?

Here's a picture of the stuff. They aren't perfect, but as close as I could make them. I at first just made one of each for me, but then made some others for friends too. Now I am all but out of them, but I can always make more.

I can't take credit for that particular skull as it was made by someone else (a Canadian, amusingly enough.) It was cast in resin from a real skull. My hat's off to Moon Raven Designs for the great job. I would either be getting another skull from them or casting one of my own this time. Then, I add the string (angel hair yarn that looks like hemp for the look of the third film without the itchy feel), beads, clasp, etc. The skull beads are made of bone (Yak I believe) and are also bought stock, then I wrap the wire and add the smaller beads. The rings are 20mm in diamiter. Sorry, but it's all I can do.

The skulls? They are resin, a polyurethane plastic. Very durable.

The skull necklace and rings are bloody wicked! I love them. ^_^ I definitely think that would attract more people, too. Plus, I don't think it's out of line to charge for shipping. That way one can just participate for fun, or receive a prize if they pay shipping only. That's not unreasonable at all, and it keeps it down for you.
On a different note, I do think that simplifying the board could help if it is possible. One of the main reasons that I'm not on here often is that we don't get notification of posts. Either a general automatic email saying that there have been replies, or ones including them would help. Since it was slow for so long, I wouldn't check the board often. Also, keeping new posts grouped together on the first page(s) or at the top helps, so one doesn't need to scan through everything.
Dunno if it's possible, or how difficult it is, but it may help.

On my account I can still see in which treads there are new posts and they do go up. Doens't that show in your account? Maybe it's something in your profile you could change so you can see which posts is new or not... As for the newsletters, I don't know if I can send them out but I'm almost sure Boehlke can. So maybe you can talk to him about sending out newsletters. Would be great
